F1 will be even more rubbish without Max. Definitely best driver on the grid with a salty personality to add to the drama. The new F1 configuration is wank. Go very fast, go very slow… absolutely rubbish. So who’s got the battery boost sussed? It’s not what F1 is about. F1 is supposed to be flat out racing.
You’ve not watched any / understood F1 since, well, since it started then? Or in fact any form of motor racing from karting and minibikes upwards? I am not saying they have the rules, or the balance of limitations right this year, because clearly they don’t, but F1 has NEVER been about flat out racing. Limits - natural from our engineering limits and mastery of the physical world, or, increasingly, imposed by the “Formula” part of F1 have always made the lap time of each lap in a race a compromise, and even in quali, truly 100% push over a lap is not realistic. The limit of tyres, fuel, parc-ferme rules, replacement parts, budget, no second car, etc. etc. all affect how hard the driver can really push. Rule 1. To finish first, first you have to finish.
