Went out for a ride today and all was good but when I got home and was putting the bike away I couldn’t select neutral from first, it would only change up the box not down. Turned the bike off and it was still in gear, wouldn’t start even when I pulled the clutch in. I finally got it back down to first with some serious jabbing and then into neutral. I’ve left it for now and will look again tomorrow with it on the centre stand. If not then I’ll get it recovered to the dealers. Any suggestions or anyone had a similar experience?
So I put it in the centre stand and it seems fine? But when I checked the oil it was below the site glass and I had to add about 1 litre! I did think it was running hot when I got home. But I thought it was just because I’d been stopped in some traffic? I’ll take it for a short test ride round the block and see how it is.
PS I am notoriously bad at checking my oil, mainly because I’ve never had a bike that used any. Last service they didn’t do an oil charge either so it could have been going slowly down for a while, it’s just due for a service now
