  1. Thank you for all the advice in wiring up my Zumo XT
i bought one of these connectors from the producer via eBay, £10 delivered
    https://ebay.us/m/N0aL1V

This splitter is wired up the wrong way round, as others have found, for Ducati wiring. I did look at swapping pins, but that proved tricky.
So i just wired up the Zumo connector to match Ducati wiring not the extension splitter. I decided the colour of the positive and negative splitter wires did matter along as it was the same at each end.
USB port and Zumo now working when the ignition is on.
Picture of testing before i tucked all the wires away.

    Hope this helps someone

  2. I have made up a number of these splitters - anyone who wants one, please send a DM. From memory, they won't be expensive.

  3. I hope to be picking up my V2S (2025) this month and would have been searching hi and low for the sat nav connector. Many thanks to @iansp, @Nicklas & @B_M for their posts. Any other hints and tricks on the new V2 would be much appreciated.

To be honest I'm very disappointed with Ducati for not including a dedicated sat nav connect as they have on all Multistradas since 2010, and then they have the cheek to charge over £40 for a suitable splitter cable to allow the connection of a sat nav.

  4. It’s because you bought the cheap version Steve!

  5. Thank you for the explanations. Can you show photos of how the installation turned out? How did you hide the cable routing near the display?

  6. Which fairings did you have to remove to perform the complete installation?

  7. To gain access to the connector for the USB socket:
    • removed the Battery Cover (item 16). the rubberised key surround (item 17) should come off with it but may need to be seated. The battery cover is held down on two pins and Velcro pads and clips under the tank cover at the rear.
    • Next remove the left hand inner fairing cover (item 14) by a clip (item 20) at the top edge.

Disconnect the connector to the USB socket and insert a cable splitter, either the Ducati accessory part or one for a Yamaha MT09 available on Amazon (check polarity as it may need reversing for the sat nav connector) or make your own using compatible connectors (AMP style, waterproof, 2 pin). connect all the leads and check both the USB socket and sat nav work when the ignition is switched on.

The recommend cable route to the sat nav mounted above the display is behind the colour panel (item 11) which is secured by clips (item 13) with spacers (item 25).

These figures were extracted from the installation instructions for the Ducati accessory sat nav wiring which shows a sat nav mounted Ducati accessory utility bar.

Replacing the coloured panel is relatively straightforward however replacing the inner fairing cover is more tricky getting it positioned behind the display while taking care to located the mounting clip.

I've attached a copy of photos showing the cable route in the two extreme screen positions:
