I love these stripped down built for a purpose speedway bikes. Would scare me to death to (try to) ride one mind...
I was pretty sure I remembered Dinos going for about £30k - £40k in the early nineties and it seems my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me after all.
You can ride a 140 at Scunthorpe Speedway, Wayne Carter runs sessions monthly for novices on the short track. If you get good enough you can advance to the 500's on the full size track. Run on weekends. It:s about £90 a session all the safety gear included should you need it. Or there's flat track at Pete Boast flat track school in Caenby Lincolnshire. It's run on weekdays, just on 140cc Kawasaki bikes.
That sounds like a lot of fun, shame it's so far away for me. We go to watch Poole Pirates a couple of times a year when they are at home, and I used to go to Swindon with my Father many years ago. I've always thought that it would be fun to have a go.
Looks wrong, like someone has dropped a heavy weight on the centre of the frame. So it's a no from me.
Perhaps you could make a weekend of it? Perhaps there is a point of interest near that Lady Nasher would like to visit 'up North'?
It would look a lot better in my opinion if the top of the tank, and the DUCATI Decal, were horizontal, not at the same angle as the frame tube.
^ i have a mate who would tow like that in a heartbeat - do you remember the window cleaners who would do similar but with a ladder? (not boat as well) Probably still do in quiet villages that are left..
That's a good shout - especially now I've noticed the Lincoln based business billboard in the background.
