Awesome spectacle, used to go every year as a young man, the silence just before the start at 3pm on Saturday is astonishing, as is the 24 hour endurance drinking ;-)
Status this morning Interesting looking through the Pit Times statisctics. Kawasaki Orleans have obviously had some trouble with over 5 hours in pits, there area few on 5-6 Hrs of total pit times - a difficult night for some.
If you’re a bit bored of Ducati dominance elsewhere, I think it’s safe to say this is the very race for you.
I wonder why there did not appear to be a single Ducati in the line up. There were a couple of Aprilia V4 bikes - placed P14 & P20 - but otherwise they all looked to be inline 4 cylinder engined bikes. Maybe inline 4 cylinder Jap bikes are just more reliable for a 24 hour endurance race.
The race commentators were discussing this issue, and said that there were no Ducati's racing due to their cost. BMW and Japanese are cheaper to run.
