  1. Picked up an XDiavel black star on Friday
Low mileage looks like a new bike
First impressions, needs mapping (Currently speaking to someone ) flat below 3000, not enough torque to trickle along in traffic in 1st at 10mph (thanks euro5) otherwise rides really nicely, although tar/slab joints on motorway sends a jolt through the bike, this was at 70 (honest guv), I think it would be nasty at double that will have a play with the suspension reduce compression dampening front and rear
1st time on an XDiavel started off feeling awkward but as the journey home progressed confidence improved
Today I fitted a connector for battery charger/maintainer, will fit innovv k6
Once I have used more fuel ‍♂️

  3. Thank you
Apologies if I am perceived as being negative, once mapped I am sure that the engine will produce “the goods” that it’s designer anticipated
I am confident that it will become keeper, love the riding position

  5. These are fairly typical initial problems. Once you’ve sorted out the preload, for your weight and sorted the mapping the bike will transform and grow on you. I’ve just had to sort a newish Multi and its transformed it.

Probably worth reading the dedicated Diavel threads to find out others experiences and recommendations.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the seat needs sorting, they do on most of the other lines.

    Oh, and welcome.

  7. Thank you
I had carried out research (been “sulking” on here and another forum), will order a pair of C spanner’s tomorrow, although the sag “looks” ok (not accurately measured it), seat feels really nice, rode it just under 100 mls from dealer (moto rapido, who seem very good), only uncomfortable things were my gloves, and constant wing buffeting of helmet at motorway speeds, it has a small screen which I will remove today, pretty sure that’s the cause, time will tell
As you say I am confident that once the mapping has been carried out, it will become the beast the designers intended

    Thank you

  8. Don’t know what happened there

  9. Common enough, double postings.

  10. Welcome.
Don’t reckon that Ducati designed the suspension to cope with the awful joints on a concrete motorway such as M25.

  11. Try it on an 899! I’ve been spat three feet in the air from my seat on more than one occasion :joy:

  13. Yes M25
I found the rest of the journey ok
It may well be something that I cannot adjust out of it

  14. Easy solution - don’t go on the M25!

  17. That slabbed section of the M25 is horrible. Car or bike it's annoying. Fortunately I only have encounter it when either using the channel tunnel or flying from Gatwick.

  18. Never noticed it being that bad before
Was travelling from m3 to Kent
Have ordered C spanner’s I will back off preload slightly, see how it goes

  20. Defi, hello! I would have thought your Deevil would have been more suitable to motorways than B roads? Suspension adjustment ends up as a happy medium on public roads. Have you checked your tyres? Condition/ pressure etc. Just asking.
