Day in the garage fitting "Ultimate Rectifier" rectifiers.... $XV now working correctly....schoolboy error...couldnt work out why it kept conking out/not starting....trapped the fuel line...
Played a preseason friendly cricket match. Very sore after yesterday’s off road exertions and tumbles but managed 1 for 18 off 6 overs on the way to a comprehensive victory against local rivals.
We are off to Glasgow later to see Yungblud But first the pups are going to a kennels, whilst the oldest dog goes to stay with Doris's son.
That's reassuring. The Spanish railway system is justas crap as the UK. I started with the Trainline but that was useless, so I I tried RENFE, the Spanish system. Turns out there are no trains anywhere around Santander due to an insect on the line, or something. I could see if Wednesday is better, but I want proof before booking anything. That rail replacement bus is a tacky devil that doesn't release its claws without great force. So that idea is binned until next time I'm in Spain. A sign from God again. Fly to Bologna. Even a good war won't get in the way. Although I will wait and see on fuel prices. Everything is bound to go up, but once this nonsense with some where that's gone straight, I doubt if prices will ever drop. A precedent has now been set. Apparently, fuel prices in the USA are high and they don't even buy any fuel off of the whore.
A 00:24am trip to John Lennon Airport to pick Son up, £6 to pick him up in a designated zone. Still least all my wheels are still on the van.........
Fucking robbery that is....Bristol airport i think last count is 7quid...i make a point of dropping people off outside of the airport....myself included - id rather walk the quarter mile up the road to the airport to spite them...cunts.
I would take a taxi to the airport and I want to be dropped by the door, not half a mile away. I'm strange like that. My usual guy gets lots of business off Sharpness docks. I don't understand it, but if a crew member finishes their shift at Sharpness, they get flown home. That could include a night in a hotel in Berkeley, plus a taxi to either Bristol, Birmingham, or Heathrow Airport. Because ships come in according to the tide, he could pick up at the docks at 3 in the morning. Everywhere will be locked up, but he is trusted with the keys to the docks and the keys to the hotel! Probably the most trusted taxi driver in the World!!!
Sunday gone (after the 4 day hike...when I should be resting)... dug 7 holes with this machine... The ground here is 50% rocks, so was using a portable hackhammer at the same time. Was so ill yesterday I spent 6 hours on the bed throughout the afternoon. Back at it today though...give me strength
Don't fanny about with a fully hand held one, I always hire one of these which are so much more powerful, easier to use, and gentler on your arms, wrists etc: https://www.beavertoolhire.co.uk/tool-hire/p/Hydraulic_Auger/
Thanks for this, but tbh I can't see it helping...the ground is thick clay that is hard, with fist sized rocks mixed in. I think a tractor one would do the trick, but wouldn't know where to look for one
In places we have 6" of soil then solid Chalk with lumps of Flint mixed in. The machine I've linked to is the one I hire and it just rips through it with no issues.
Yes the wheeled ones are much better at dealing with stoney ground. The hand-helds will either get stuck or fling you round the garden.
The airport is in Speke, which when I was a lad was one of the roughest areas of an already very rough city.
Couldn't you have waited until your Son's return from Uni and enslaved him for a while whilst you rested on your Sun lounger supervising?
