Especially for larger motorcycle grids, turn 1 at COTA is, IMO, an incident waiting to happen. Add hot headed young riders and it’s a potential disaster. Not one of my favourite circuits but unlikely to be dropped now MotoGP is managed by an American conglomerate. Andy
They’re showing the 1996 Spanish gp on tnt4 at 4:15 this afternoon. No spoilers from me but well worth an hour of your busy schedules if you get the chance.
What a fkn fanny. He wants to hear about the pain I suffered having my farmer giles removed. Now that’s a real man suffering. https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1093313/1/marc-marquez-shows-cota-wound-ahead-spanish-motogp
Bit of a let down, they had showjumping on instead, in true tnt fashion. Here’s the last lap imagine that happening now. Mental.
Watching moto 2 from earlier. Senna Agies .3 of a second away from jorges pole lap time from moto gp from 13 years ago. Unreal. On a 765 too!
But still 3 seconds slower than the current generation MotoGP bikes. You can’t compare modern bikes with bikes from 10 to 15 years ago, it’s pointless. Andy
Yeah he does need some luck but poor fellow ain't too bright and he'd probly have fucked up the change of bike to wets, again...
Exactly there was no “genius race craft” about that: He was lucky he crashed where he did while he was about to start another lap - after he’d been show the “your wet bike is ready” message on his dash lol. He then; a) had no other option to come back in B) copied all the other riders who he could see had already made the correct decision. No wonder some of us are thoroughly bored with all the unnecessary fawning over him that goes on.
Tbh, Marc said himself that luck was on his side, and that he could not have come off in a better place. He is rather good normally in bad weather conditions…
He could’ve been flipper the dolphin and still not won that race on slicks. We all saw Aldegeur get swallowed up by those on wets. Still, at least they made another new rule up for him. Be interesting if everyone was allowed to ride backwards wouldn’t it?
