So what have you done today..?

  1. Had the pub golf day today. Glorious weather. Played like absolute dog shit on the first nine salvaged some pride on the back nine. Won a few bob in our four ball.

On a side note has anyone ever been to that horror show just north of Cambridge where they’ve built like a city of a hundred thousand apartments for cyclists? My god it’s like some dystopian nightmare if you’re in a car.
It’s either called or near Girton.
    Never seen anything like it.

  2. Is that the 'scar' visible to the left on either the A14/M11 just before j12 Sandy?

It's like some dystopian future city, the area between it and the M11 is also an eyesore looks like a tip.

Luckily my Son's accommodation is more Centric and a little prettier but Trinity College it isn't.

  3. That’s the one.

  4. More bicycles and hippies than Amsterdam and I’m not even joking. I got cross eyed with the cycle lanes and there was either a pedestrian crossing or speed bump every 50yards.

  5. Haven't been through it but my Son knows of it and did explain the why and what of it but I've slept a few times since so can't remember.

Stay out of Cambridge if you don't like 'proper' cyclists or those that are 'forced' to use cycles having not ridden since just getting off stabilisers to bob from lecture to lecture you may have an aneurysm particularly at night when they've fck all in the way of lighting.

  7. Great day out on the Shercos doing a 100km loop from Marshfield to Malmsbury & back. Perfect weather :sun::sun:

There were lots of pretty flowers, tweety birds & Cotswolds villages...

  8. I used to do epping to Cambridge and back every day for work for two years in all weathers when I got my first 899, I swear it cost me a fortune and my own mental health.
    Never again etc..
The only road I can think of that’s worse is whatever it’s called going down to Cornwall with the biggest collection of crabs ever doing 35 in the outside lane.

  9. A30 I'm guessing unless you were on the South of the peninsula which I believe is the A38.

Fairly sure that you're describing the A30 though, only drive along there early or very late doors.

Not a fan of the M11 TBH rarely use it though these days mostly everything for me is M6/M1/A14.

When I'm driving these days I have little driving competitions plus I'll rarely allow other drivers to get under my skin these days.

  10. Are those 4 stroke Sherco's? Had you down as a hooligan?

  11. Yup 4-strokes. They are hooligan enough for me & my mate :)

  12. You'll probably remember that A303 is the other choice instead of A30 in part. Only part of the route but had to travel to Glastonbury music Fest for work a couple of years ago and followed a traffic-busting country route which worked surprisingly well.

  13. Well clearly when you pair a burying them in the landscape.

At first I thought the front one was an old school DRZ 400 lol. Soz like :D

Thinking of buying a Ducati 450mx bike and road registering it ATM.

  14. I only use the A30 from Exeter as I'm coming down from 'up North'.

Only time I recall the A303 is when I had to for work when the idiots decided that Petersfield to Ivybridge was a reasonable travel distance/time.

Is Stonehenge just off the 303? That was about the only highlight of the drive other than just how soul destroying it was.

  16. yes it is, you get to study caravan designs more than you ever wanted to if travelling by car..

A303 still an alternative to A30 going West depending where you are travelling.

  17. Lavatory cistern was overflowing all the time. Can't have that, so I took it to bits and replaced the ball valve. Bit of light plumbing ...
