Hi All Can anyone point in the direction of a rider comfort seat for my 2014 1200. I have seen a few described as comfort but could do with a part number to be certain I get the correct one.
There's a PDF of the 2014 version of the Ducati Accessories catalogue on this page, added by @LiveFast...... he doesn't seem to have been active recently though. Not sure how effective these were. The Touratech seats for the 1200 DVT, also fit the 1260, are good IMHO. I have both the rider and pillion versions on my 1260. The later, non Touratech, ones that Ducati produced... not so good. The relevant pages are attached here. These have the part numbers.
That’s helpful thanks. Anybody have experience of those particular seats. How comfy is the lowered seat against the standard plank.
The original Touratech seat is a big improvement, it has a flatter profile and is slightly dished for more support. I had the normal option not a lowered one. It also prevented you crushing your nuts on the tank!
Sorry, no experience of the earlier comfort seat for the pre DVT/2015 Multistrada. As stated I have the Touratech seat designed for the 1200 DVT, this won't fit the earlier bikes but will, although never sold as such, will fit the regular 1260 Multi; base model, S, D-Air, GT and Pikes Peak. The Grand Tour and Pikes Peak come with improved seats anyway. From personal experience I'd say that the Touratech seat is still a marginal improvement over the Pikes Peak seat. The Touratech seat is by no means plush and 'squidgy', that wouldn't work. It is however a better shape, flat at firm and covered in a decent semi grippy material. It's a night and day improvement compared to the awful standard seat that had no right to be fitted to a touring bike of this class. Maybe it's the sceptic in me but Ducati probably saw this as an opportunity to sell expensive accessory comfort seats... Std seat; arse smarting by lunchtime, worse immediately on subsequent consecutive days of riding. Touratech seat; all day comfort on the sort of riding I mainly do on tour, even day after day. I did do one 400+ mile motorway stretch once to get home for a sick dog, that was getting a bit tingly towards the end I'll admit. Was the comfort seat for the pre DVT models made by Touratech? I can't find reference to that, whereas the MY2015> DVT accessory catalogue, and elsewhere, mentions it specifically. The OP is asking for a 2014, pre DVT, Multi. Not sure who made these or if they are as effective as the Touratech ones.
Can’t really see on this picture? I thought it was but you may well be right. Maybe it was a Ducati supplied comfort seat for the earlier models, I know it was a lot better than the standard one.
Found a standard seat to get a custom seat job. Any recommendations in the Wolverhampton/Birmingham area.
