Thanks. Royal Enfield don't do great on kerb wight or engine power, but that's not the big thing for me.
I got as far as "BITCH" in latin. What a brilliant name! Actually, I think the nearest translation is "Magnify" and that would seem more reasonable.
Makes total sense - in Spanish! Hungry like the wolf - here may be wolfs still in Spain. I don't know, but that makes sense!
Here they reckon that the Triumph is better.I've been watching videos and nothing in my list seems that good. I now don't know whether to go to Frasers for Royal Enfield, or Riders for the Ducati Scrambler on Friday. Maybe both.
There was a video with Charley Boorman and VisorDown testing Triumphs and they reckoned on the Triumph Bobber. In fact, they praised it. Makes a change to having the shit that I've chosen panned!
Honda CMX500 Rebel £5799 Kawasaki Vulcan S £7399 Triumph Bonneville Bobber £13795 + Something from the Royal Enfield range This is where I am at. I hope to have this sorted out by the end of the week. Do Fowlers on Tuesday for the first three and Frasers on Friday for Royal Enfield. No idea what to choose out of these. Only thing is that the Triumph Bobber is massively more expensive that everything else.. I am not sure whether it is worth it just for just pottering about.
All speculation as I've never seen one in the flesh. I think that it is about £7,500 Just for blopping around the countryside making sure to miss bitches who just pull out on me. It is so much easier now to choose. I don't care about touring, luggage carrying and fuel range. I haven't bothered look up anything about range and economy. I don't know how much the tank holds and I really don't care! Royal Enfield SUPER METEOR 650 ASTRAL
At Fowlers today I forgot about checking out the BSA, but the Kawasaki Eliminator is favourite. Now to look at Royal Enfield on Friday. I'll see how that goes before checking out the Beeza, The Triumph is double the price of the Kawasaki, so that's not going to happen. The Honda was OK and my mate thought it best, but I like the Kawasaki. Nothing has a centre-stand, but the Kawasaki has threads on its swinging arm and they do paddock stand bobbins as extras. Honda's don't have threads and you are on your own to sort out chain adjustment. It just gives me a better feeling to think that chain adjustment and rear wheel removal has been considered, rather than the Honda "sort it out yourself" attitude. I still await the banning letter from DVLA, but just getting on with my life. Oh, you can also get little factory soft panniers for the Kwacker, that I might get. I think that you can also get a phone app that synchs so you have GPS route finding.
If you haven't considered it before, the ABBA Superbike stand is worth a look. The adapters for most bikes are available and inexpensive. The addon to hold up the front wheel is good too. Its a personal choice but I sold my paddock stands and kept the ABBA https://www.abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?item=superbike-stand&pid=1
The Kwacker is just over £100 more than the Honda @ £6191 but that means that I should be able to fund it myself, without asking my solicitor for money out of my trust fund, as that could get messy, unless I lie. I do not want to go down that path. I believe that any Royal Enfield that takes my fancy is cheaper than the Kwacker, but I won't know for sure until Friday. Lastly, the breakfast egg and bacon roll that I scoffed in Harry's cafe, in Fowlers, was gert lush, as you say in the West Country!
I have paddock stands, both with hooks for bobbins and rubber-coated things that just go under the swinging arm. In theory, they should work, even on the Honda's round swinging arms. I think that the truth is that I just don't like Hondas! Trying to think now. When did I last have a Honda? That's is correct - that shitty, piece of shit, always going wrong CX500, in what? 1981? V reg? Not going to happen now.
