V4 2025 Panigale V4 - Removing The Evap Canister Removal

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Gav101, Apr 28, 2026.

  1. I noticed yesterday after a TD the fuel was boiling in the tank and excess fuel was coming out of the breather hose at the bottom of the bike after session. It seemed to do it more when the tank was filled over half.

I have read that the EVAP causes issues on the 2025 bikes, similar to the previous gen V4? Where the pressure builds up too much and that pump struggles with the pressure change? (Can't say i noticed starting issues though)

Just wondered if anyone experiences similar issues and removed their EVAP/Charcoal canister from their 2025 Panigale V4? If so any tips on removal before i do it this weekend. (I have purchased the Jet prime Eliminator)

    Thanks!

  2. They all do that just fill what fuel you are using for that session … rather than carrying around 10kg more fuel than you need… less fuel less spitting fuel out when you remove the lid

Secondly look at Ducati.com under the extras you can buy from them ie full Akra exhaust and there are the fitting instructions there.
You can then see the cannister removal and pipe routing to a little overflow tank that comes with the kit.. you could always find something else to do this.
You will need the electric system bypass too

  3. Cheers Andy. I never noticed before on my 22 V4 to be honest but if they all do it then i guess nothing to worry about. I guess it is still worth removing though? The bike is mainly used on track with very little road bimbles.

And those instructions are quite useful!

  4. How did you find it after removing the evap charcoal gubbins? Ive been considering doing this to my 21 V2. It seems fairly straight forward to do but was wondering if it throws any warning lights up or any effect on the performance.

  5. I took it off to have a look and it is really straight forward. However I decided to hold fire until i put a full system on it and i will also run a recovery tank rather than let the breather pipe run straight to out the bike.

You will need an emulator plug to connect to for the purge valve otherwise it will chuck any error or you can leave the purge valve connected to the loom, remove the canister and just plug the return vacuum line to the throttle body.

  6. In the end I decided to ditch the Evap canister prior to putting a system on. But rather than just go the ghetto route and run the breather straight out. I ended up buying my own Evap kit with the catch tank that would normally get with a full Akrapovic system. Cost about £90 in parts from Ducati, you will also need a Jet Prime Emulator or it will chuck up a fault code. That was £29.

It took 45 mins to install and uses existing mounting holes. I and was able to use all of the existing hoses without any cutting. (Ideal if i want reinstall the EVAP if needed)

Removing it does open up a lot of space around the radiator so you have better airflow and less hot air accumulation. Drops weight (see the pic) and it feels it starts easier when hot. I haven't found it to be excessive with fuel smell either.

AndyB mentioned the Akrapovic fitting instructions which link below and shows how to install and the Ducati PN needed. parts: https://media.ducati.com/EPCResources/ATTACHMENTS/6C/6CE796494551FCEFAA94B81A72B1C884.pdf
