Had a bit of a weepy fork, made a seal mate type thing out of a plastic bottle, removed the dirt seal, lubed up the plastic thing with a bit of vaseline, insert your own childish comment, slipped it in, went round the fork, pulled it out, did it again, cleaned it all and put the dirt seal back. Went out for a quick 50 mile ride, no oil at all on the fork, amazed it worked and completely free.
Met a mate who's been rebuilding a Harley and went up the coast to Seahouses for fish and chips. Lush.
Out on the Mayday run, when coming home the rear started getting a bit loose. So stopped at a petrol station and found a nice screw in it. Removed screw, repaired and rode it home. Once home I've slightly over inflated the tyre, making a mental note of the pressure set. I'll check it again in a couple of days, but think it will be ok. The puncture was just off centre, so hopefully a new tyre is not needed.
Rode over to a small village in Shropshire called Clungunford for a monthly bike meet, met up with a couple of the west mids Ducati club. The meet is at a very small village hall, I have to say I felt young I took the SL, about an hours ride either way
Set the correct time on the 899 in a lay-by and without the owners manual. I’m taking that as a great accomplishment. I also cleaned it when I got back.
Sorted a route for me and my mate when we go to Scotland in August. Lubed the chain on the bike this afternoon.
Started packing the Diavel up for euro trip, ferry to France and one back from Spain booked, no other plan
A tad adventurous for my taste but if you are happy to plan for the next day the night before, it sounds great. Hope you have a good time. Andy
The Monster went through its Spanish MoT yesterday without a problem. The Mrs is already pushing me to sell it. I thought I’d ride it a bit more first
Yesterday I fitted a sat nav mount, the bolts for the nose upper fairing must be installed by Italian woman with dainty little hands, my Yorkshireman troll mitts are really not the tool for the job.
Stripped of some bits in preparation for trading it in for a Rally. Rally model for the bigger tank when touring
Fitted a pair of newer rear indicators, £40 the pair from a 2024 monster I think Gets rid of the fried egg look and just as bright with no hyper flash or dash warning.
125 miles on the old clanker SL . More multistradas than ever, a lot PP & RS models . Didn't do the group ride there or the Rideout though.
