Hi there all, just a quick one to see if anyone has a spare fuel sender nut knocking around for a 748? The manky plastic one on mine has given up the ghost and I’m trying to get it sorted before the TT. I have ordered one from France and one from China, but don’t know if they will get here in time. Order metal QR fixings from Stuart at Ducati.tech, he of the ExactFit belts and ExactStart upgraded starter cable kits. I’m sure he’ll have some on the shelf and you’ll have them in a couple of days. Plus they won’t break.
I don't think they make them in plastic anymore. I bought a new sender and the nut was aluminium. I have a spare but I'm in Aust.
As a last resort a nut of a thermostatic radiator valve will work. I needed one years ago a looked around for something with the same thread and bingo. Only thing needed is a light file on the inside so it fits the sender snugly. Left it on the bike for years after as it worked a treat.
And there she is, would seem dementia hasn't totally set in. Pm me your address and I'll put it in the post tomorrow, you can return it when one of your replacements have arrived. Surprisingly my plastic one has survived 28 years, I'm sure I bought the alloy one from cornerspeed as a just in case and so far it's never been needed. Chris.
