What a brilliant interview with him afterwards confident full of personality and thanking his mum and dad for selling their house to get him there. Splendid stuff.
Was certainly more action packed than yesterdays and well done Jorge, even if you do come across as a *bit of a helmet sometimes. Liberty media really need to sort out the scheduling when there’s so many hours of utter fkn guff and noise plumping up 9 lap races cos of a cautionary red flag round one of the shortest circuits on the calendar or shortened races cos it’s raining a bit. The amount of race time to air time is so unbalanced and not worth the ever increasing costs to attend (not that you’d notice in France). Bring back moto 2 and 3 practice too while you’re at it.
Well done Martin, that was a stellar ride!! I would love to see him flicking the vee's to Ducati & Aprilia and taking another title this year...!
Just checked 13 laps of moto 3 - 24 minutes 41 seconds 9 laps of moto 2 - 14 mins and 14 seconds 24 laps of moto gp - 41 mins and 18 seconds Less than an hour and a half of racing that started at 9am and was still being broadcast at gone 3pm. Shite.
*Probably an unfair comparison but the giro boys raced for just under five hours today, and I don’t want five hour races I just want more racing, more coverage of the lower classes and less Suzi and the boys fawning over you know who.
“Nat” did a good piece with Pedro thinking about it tbf and I can’t wait to see him on a ducati next year.
I do agree there is to much talking and filler. I get why that is with the current scheduling but I’m sure they could do better. I just note the race start times and just watch that part. I don’t want waste my Sunday sat in front of the TV listening to waffle. Guintoli is the one worth listening too but he doesn’t get much air time.
I think we could well be watching the next goat. If Martin continues and moves to another manufacturer next year. Could be on the way to 3 titles on different bikes.
Hmm two titles on the two best bikes at the time, not denying his talent but not goat material in the household (yet), he's not even level with Pecco as things stand. I didnt like the way he throw his toys out the pram when he thought the aprilia wasnt up to scratch either.
If he moves to Yamaha, he will be back of the grid. Seems odds on that FQ20 will be at Honda next season and would be surprised if they took on two big names at the same time.
All bikes are brand new for next year. Simplified too, no ride height etc 850cc Really dont know who will hit the ground running, so jumping ship to Honda, even Yamaha, may not be so strange. Yamaha strengths always used to be handling and corner speed. The capacity reduction could work for them. Not sure if the bikes have to be v4 or if inline4 is allowed? As to this season. Cant see Marquez challenging now. Out next weekend, then 1 week to the next race. So maybe two weekends racing. Then recovery back to 100%? …and 70 points adrift May well be time to hang up the leathers. Bez or Martin. Who ever stays injury free.
Based on what we have seen, who should we expect to perform on 850cc? Martin Acosta Ogura What about rookies, Alonoso and Holgado? The performance gap will no longer be huge, it may work well for those stepping up. The gp lads may find adapting to power deficit harder?
It’s good to see Martin regain his confidence. It’s a shame that he made things so difficult with Aprilia last year, which I think was more a reflection of his state of mind at that time than anything else, combined with a lack of maturity. He’s incredible when he’s on it. It seems all of the crash damage is catching up with MM and I suspect that he’ll need to retired before he wants to. With his mental fortitude though, it’s entirely possible that he could be driven to get another title and quit on his own terms. This year could be an interesting season but I’m really looking forward to next year already.
Pecco on an Aprilia Toprak on Pirelli's Its going to be such a lottery youd probably be better off asking who isnt going to be there. Miller Binder Frankie Bastianini(?) Marini(?)
