  1. Keep the policy mate. Just go to fire and theft.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

  4. You’d be mad not to keep the bike currently in the workshop insured.

  5. Have you ever thought you're being scammed by this guy? Is he this ridiculously slow with all his work? If so, he will never get enough jobs completed to earn enough to make a profit! He'll go bust.

Being nice to him and being so understanding clearly doesn't get results. Fact.

  6. its been a flipping nightmare, he's very slow and methodical, doing a proper job, the latest saga was that it has carrillo con rods, so we ordered bolts from ducati and they didn't fit, so after a lot of research i bought replacement ones from texas, they should have turned up , but now will only ship a decent amount and not just four bolts, so no i am again left hanging.

at this point i might not see the bloody thing til september thats if some other bullshit issue doesn't pop up that will delay delay delay

i'll be honest that this whole thing has made me very unhappy, some other guy dictating my happiness, depending what he can or can't be bothered to do at work

  7. I'd be seeing an opportunity there, buying the MOQ and put the rest up in pairs on Ebay.
Other people all over the world will be having the same issue and will pay a premium to get them.
You'll recover some of the cost of your repairs.

  9. Sorry to read all this. I feel your pain.

Regarding the question, any time I’ve tried to ‘justify’ the purchase of a motorbike, I’m unable to.

And then I go and buy it.

For the best part of us, these are not logical purchases, they’re not transport, sensible or practical. My bikes are self indulgent. I’d be horrified if I worked out the % of time they spend in the garage, but it’s absolutely not about that. It’s about the way owning one makes me feel, but more so, it’s about what they do for my inner peace when I do get the chance to go and ride them.

They release me from the tyranny of trivia.

Do I think you should do the deed, what do you think?!

  10. To adapt a quote sent to me on here: "Never regret money spent on concerts, holidays or motorcycles; regret getting to retirement and realising the only thing you did was work."

You're only here once, you're missing it, do something to rectify that (and definitely lose the stickers  )

  11. Absolutely. Going to the TT in a couple of weeks.....taking my RSV4 [which i do most of the time] could be the last year on it as i broke my wrist in 2 places a short while back and when i went out on it, it was a bit achy but, ive had a good 15 years on it...gets used rarely but when it does get used.... [and ive said it before] its an occasion, like i bought it 6 months ago and it my 3rd time on it...that being said ive taken some mitigating actions to make it more comfortable... [last year dropped the rear suspension on its arse for the motorway ride which as amazing] this year ive fitted a throttle lock so should make the motorway ride a bit more comfortable again...anyway....enjoy it while you can...

  12. nice advice fellas, thank fully i listened to all the bad advice and ignored the sensible

spent all day feeling sick and guilty, now i own two panigales, although one is in bits, but yes, one of the deciding factors was age and the march of time, who knows whats round the corner and life is too short to regret stuff like this, i am in love with it already.

i also know that the other bikes just gonna drag on, i went to locksbottom the other week, its where they start for the Hastings may day run and i nearly cried (i choked up) at not being able to do it, so honestly this buy was about improving my state of mind, or dare i say it, mental health

i think the (£1800???!!!) wrap will go, couple of discreet Agip ones instead

  13. Is there any forum members in the USA you could ship those bolts to and they can post them?
There are a couple of USA chums who are coming to the European Multistrada meet up in mid June, then I can bring them back to the UK. One is in Florida and one California. Pretty sure they wouldn’t mind bringing them if you get them delivered to them or even collecting them from a supplier if there is someone local to them?

Send me a PM if you want to investigate further

  17. You have plenty of time to decide about the wrap. T' would be a shame to act in haste and repent at leisure?

Perhaps losing the wheel stickers might be enough of a change...

Enjoy the (soon to be here) sunny weekend, you've waited longer than most.

  19. If you're selling it on soonish I would keep it, unless it offends you so much.

  20. I agree, it might not be to the purists and yours and mines tastes, but I've found that stickered up bikes sell better. ;)
