I do not intend fitting the rack to the bike. Anyone have experience with a tail bag that works well with the bike, as in fit and attachment? Looking for something in the 10 liter range. Thanks.
Agreed, I use the 20L tailpack (they also have a 40L) and absolutely love it. It rolls up and fits under the rear seat (without the toolkit) and keeps stuff bone dry. The straps are super easy to setup and takes seconds to loop around the grab bars as they simply loop around and hook back onto the bag, pull tight, tuck strap in, job done. https://kriega.com/rollpacks/20-black
+1 for the Kriega US Drypacks, they well made, durable and waterproof. I've used 20L and 30L on Multistrada 1200s and on my Multistrada 1100 I have the tank bag attachment for 5L and 10L bags. Kriega US Drypacks come with generic attachment loops and there are bike specific attachment loops for some bikes but not not the new Multistrada V2 (2025+) as yet.
If you want something you can put on and take off the bike really quick, go Kriega they’re bulletproof and as you can see from everyone on here - well tested. If you intend whatever you use to sit there constantly, and you don’t leave your bike unsupervised often the sw motech tail bags are great, they Velcro under your pillion seat nicely. The problem is they don’t fit as nicely as Kriega if you use the hooks/d-rings. Used both fairly extensively.
Regarding security of Kriega US Drypacks, I use a Rock Creek gearlock and cable threaded through the loops on the Drypack - not as secure as a hard top box or pannier but OK for short stops during the day but not overnight.
@VinceP, I modified a spare pillion seat, the Kreiga straps are for a Scrambler and I just happen to have the threaded inserts and tool, https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/small-bike-things-youve-done-today.82554/page-359#post-2214095, post 7167. Andy
That looks good. I seem to have lost some of my Kriega straps, could you put a picture up of the straps you use please?
I had these from my 765 but they were a bit short for the multi. I took the waist strap from an old Kreiga bag and cut it into longer strips, drilled a hole through it and melted the ends together to make my own , they stay attached to the bike under the pillion seat. I'm away from the bike at the moment so I can't take a pic .
I bought some straps today, threaded them together and melted the ends. Job done. But under the seat of the RS are 4 screws for the panels, which could be utilised to fit some of the straps you’ve put above.
Fit a Givi SC430 seat lock and you'll have lots of choice of bags, super easy to clip on and off, love the ease of use mine gives me. Once the straps are adjusted its easy to just remove or leave in place. I have mine fitted to a Ducati rear luggage rack. Think my pack is 12ltr expands to 15ltr https://www.givi.co.uk/news/seatlock-en
Might have 20/30 litre Kreiga bags in the loft if you’re interested. Think one was brand new the other used but excellent condition. Bought them ages ago but got a set of removable Blaze panniers for the Panigale from this here parish so never used them.
