So what have you done today..?

  1. Went to a private Honda Museum in Lee on the Solent and had an amazing time and learning experience.
Pictures are a bit tight but the Blue 750 Honda is the very first one that was sold in the UK as is the CBX 1000. The bicycle with the two stroke engine 1952 is the very first motorcycle actually made by Honda.

It's quite incredible what is out there that very few of us know about.

  2. I didn't know that! My Nan used to take me from Henfield to Steyning on the steam train in the 60's

  3. I get that Beeching was asked to do a job but 60 years on can you imagine how easy life would be for so may people if the branch lines were still in existence. What a joy life could be and with far fewer emissions probably.

  4. We've had a bit of a relaxed day with the only "excitement" being that we took our big dog to the vets for her monthly allergy jab and a check up.

However tonight we are off out in Newcastle to meet some friends :)

  5. I love anyone who loves dogs.

Two rescues that are just delightful.

  7. He must have been a Scientologist

  8. Been photographing documents for Sons application for a working visa to Australia. 6 minutes later it's accepted, he definitely won't be back home until December.

Not sure his Mom is going to be too chuffed when I tell her in the morning.

  16. You learn something new everyday! I didn’t realise sandcast bikes never officially made it to the UK.

  17. Yes, I hadn't appreciated that either. When they embarked on the "superbike" programme they didn't want to plough fortunes into the manufacturing process so the first Guinea pigs were the sandcast ones for the US market. Once they realised that the market was good they developed the engineering for mass production with the resultant quality and tolerance improvements. It's still however the case that the sandcast ones seem to be the most collectible but that's because of their originality rather than quality.

  18. Not just today, but over the weekend.

Drove up to see our Eldest and his wife in the Cotswolds and met their Puppy Bonnie(12wks) for the first time who's already being taught to drive the small tractor:

Today I made them a frame to go in a planter in their Garden:

Then of course this evening have watched the Red Roses take the Womens Six Nations - Again.

    A good weekend all round.

  19. Club match against my old club followed by lunch. Played against an old mate which was nice. Shot a gross 74 (4 over) which was good enough… for a half!!

  20. Sunday

Longish ride with a TRF inters group . The leader must have needed to be somewhere as he was pressing on a bit and even though we stopped twice for drinks and piccies as well as the usual lunch stop, we finished the route an hour earlier than usual. It was kind of exhilarating though, especially as I’d not ridden for about a month due to injury, work and cricket, so I was a bit rusty.

    I’m hiding at the back
