  1. Tunnel booked. Bike loaded up.
Leave 3 in the morning for the Shuttle. Makes sense now looking at the temperatures!
    Vosges for a few days
Just wish I had vented boots.
Out for fuel this morning at 8.30 and it was already rather warm.. 20260525_125324.jpg

  4. A 3am start is definitely a perfect way to start the day.....
As for the vented boots, have a look at the Sidi Mag 1....
Although dont get to excited as I own these, and the air flow is limited...
Im off Italy in June, and I will be swapping my trusty Daytona's for a Dainese short boot, just for air flow lol

    But happy travels mate !!

  5. Better than Rain ! Enjoy the trip. Keep the updates coming. Vosges is one of my target in the futire

  6. Bon voyage. With age I have given up riding in very hot weather, don’t want to sound like a nagging mum but stay well hydrated!

  7. Have a safe trip, and keep us posted.

  8. Love the Vosges, much like most of the rest of France TBH. Have a great trip.

Every time I go to the Vosge I try to stay in Aubure, highest village in the area. Every one of the three roads in/out are brilliant.

  9. Back last Monday, late. Yes, it was hot!
Tbh, short on photos, too busy riding!
Lots of great roads. Not much traffic.
Dodged rain on the Sunday return heading North, then hit rain Monday in UK…at Scottish Corner and up the A68. No surprises there…

Fab area. Top tip, get off the main routes
Luxembourg interesting, though progress was being made to get back to Coquelles, so it was a blur, then found a hotel and booked the tunnel for return.
Speed camera still there on Col de Bussang…
It kicked off in Strasbourg on Sunday eve apparently some people kicking a round thing around a field got folks excited?

Well worth a look if time limited. (V Alps etc. )Good roads to be had following the French/Belgian border.
Pyrenees, Picos, Dolomites clearly better and more scenic…but a long haul and more time is required.

GS was superb (sorry!) and despite a royal thrashing, it somehow managed to stay above 50mpg. Just serviced today and had a sit on the current Ducati PP…very nice. Probably the only other bike I would want to be on for trips like this. Then I look at price tag, chain etc etc..
