  1. I've got these options on my shelf, Meguiars Compound, Meguiars Polish and Menzerna PF2400.
I'm hand polishing swirls that I've inherited from the previous owner using Farecla foam pads and just wondering what other options might be out there?

    Thanks

  2. Meguiars compound is good but you’d be better of with a DA machine than doing it by hand ime.

  3. Always worried I'm going to take too much out of the laquer coat.
In the end I've done the tank starting with Menzerna with a generic red soft foam hand pad and followed that up with the Meguiars Polish with a Farecla black soft foam hand pad.
Ran out of time for a final wash off and pics, so I'll post those next time.

  4. Use a fine polish, you'd be amazed at how long it takes to remove the lacquer. An elcometer would be a help, but if your careful you don't need one.
Sounds like the previous owner used a rotary machine, make sure its clean and use a DA which is a lot more gentle and even than doing it by hand and those swirls will disappear easily. Don't put pressure on the machine just let its weight do the work.
