  1. Hi all

any tips for fixing a wing mirror that’s dropping gradually at speed. Has been fine for a while, and that the drooping starts.

I’ve had it off to see if I can tighten anything but the internal screw is as tight as it can be.

    cheers

  2. I had the same issue on a 900ss years ago. I'll try to check my records to see how I fixed them.

  4. You can take it all apart and rough up the ball and the socket with very coarse sandpaper. :upyeah:

  5. Apply a small amount of thread locker such as Loctite to the ball and socket
    Worked well on mine.

  7. What worked for me was to run an M5 tap up the hole which takes the self tapper and replace the self tapper with a socket head M5 screw that I could a decent purchase on. Also, the stub on the part of the ball & socket assembly below the screw can bottom out in the hole preventing the joint from tightening properly. It might be worth filing a mm or 2 off this to make sure.
