Went to my local arthouse cinema this evening to see something that looked good. I unwittingly walked into 'Cinema 3' instead of 'Cinema 2 and sat down in a curiously old-aged audience... Thought I was watching a rather-long trailer for a filmed National Theatre production, only to realise that I'd walked into the wrong screening . I bit the bullet (I hate it when people arrive late to a screening, so I didn't up & out to the correct place) and sat through half an hour of what I now read was "...a darkly funny tale..." - The Playboy of The Western World... After trying my hardest to enjoy it I exited in a quiet scene, caught the bus and dropped in to my local for a couple of conciliatory pints. I'll attempt to see the film tomorrow... Doh! What a twat I'm sure others have done twatty things too....
Hmmm - I think if I'd chosen to go & see it I would have persevered (& it was too hot in there). I know it's a classic, however the lure of a good pint won out
As I'm on a roll here, sharing... This is when I got home after midnight from - ahem - too many Margueritas a couple of weeks ago to find that my new goggles had arrived, so obviously had to try them I never take selfies - it was the drink wot dun it - and only shared here 'cos of the t-shirt
Ordered a concert ticket over the phone from the box office. It arrived & was duly put in the ticket basket without checking it. Went up on the day I had ordered the ticket for, only to find they had issued me one for the day before... The bonus of the electronic scanning of the paper ticket was that the box office could check that it hadn't been used the night before and kindly swapped it for one in the same section for that night
