Mostly only ever seen them as roadkill, especially so on the A605 in East Northampton. With a lot of Badgers, there must be some seriously damaged cars vans and trucks. Mate hit a Fox few years ago in his BMW, £££££ to fix.
I rode over to see a chap I know at his car garage and while I was there he asked me to take a look at a motorbike someone had brought in because the abs light was permanently on. I stared at it for a bit then noticed the new tyres……tyre fitters had put the front wheel in backwards ffs.
The ones around here are really skittish. They’ve only started straying into the edges of village over the last couple of months and don’t appear to be used to humans yet.
My mate did the same in a 300zx when doing about 100mph on a country road (he’s dead now btw, after burying an Audi in some poor old dear’s living room wall). It (the impact with the deer) tore off most of the front of the car ahead of the crossmember under the engine. It (the car) looked as if it had been hit by a train.
Test ridden a r1300gs - a very good bike in dynamic pro and easy to ride. Sensible rather than visceral/exciting.
