I realise that it's a state secret, but is anyone willing to break the law and tell me how to factory reset? FFS, it should not be this hard!.
It's not hard. The problem is you. Settings --> General --> Transfer or Reset iPhone --> Erase All Content and Settings
Did a reset, except in typical Apple, it was not a factory reset as everything is still there. BUT, It has achieved something. Here's that photo that I posted last night. I will now take my life in my own hands and see what else has gone or not gone.
WEIRD SHIT Sorry, but that's the only thing that I can come up with That WAS a clever factory reset . Everything is the same, but the weird colour shit is fixed. I managed to tone it down with a nice background. Everything is still there, including the GWR app with my train ticket. The WiFi was butchered but not the eSIM. Some apps have lost their settings and some have not. I cannot deal with this. I'm the one who is supposed to have brain damage, not the fecking fone! The song remains the same. I will go back to my old phone with a physical SIM in it. I'm just unsure about juggling the phone SIM Numbers. Actually, I just thought, I need my main number on a physical SIM so that if I go abroad and get phoned from the USA, I cannot have my iphone forwarding the call to me if I am abroad. That would be expensive for both parties paying international rates. I'm in Spain until the 26th and then have a day on the ferry back. I think that I will not dare touch any settings and see how this phone lasts. It will go wrong again, but the question is when? Did I remember to say that iphones are shit? My memory lets me down sometimes.
The screen lock colour is still the weird pink. In this mega-easy (NOT!) POS iphone, how do you choose the colour on the lock screen? Again, the factory reset never changed it!
Think I found it. It just doesn't work . I'm done with the crappy Apple. I'm not spending any more time on it. My time is cheap but not limitless. Interesting exercise. Nobody can ever again tell me, "should of got an iphone" and no wonder Apple are such a rich company, as they sell cheap, unreliable, chinky shit for mega-money. Now I know, I feel liberated!
Good for you, move on then and get a phone you like - me? I'll stick to my cheap, unreliable, chinky shit for mega-money iPhone thanks.
If you are happy with an iPhone, then fine. Nothing wrong with that. Happiness is important. I learnt the very hard way. I'm happy to go back. This was always going to be an experiment and it was a successful experiment. Successful in that I learnt much.
Perry, a good solution for navigating technology- phones, computers etc. is to put what you need into YouTube...eg: "iPhone 15 how do I change the lock screen colour?" There are explanation videos for almost everything, from simple interface questions through to complex networking issues.
The fecker got me again! I have a personal injury trust account with Cater Allen. That's where my comp went. The deal is that I submit a request for money first and then my solicitor has to approve it, before it's paid out. She's cool with everything that I have asked for and normally it's not a problem. I put in a request for four grand, or try to. To finish it, Cater Allen want My personal access code and text me a one time pass code. That's the problem. When the shitty iPhone gets the code, there's widespread celebration. So much so, the crappy iPhone screen goes dark - very dark. I still thought that I could read it but Cater Allen didn't agree. I cannot be bothered to hunt for the special feature (iPhone only) of go dark when a text is received. I cannot wait to go home and rescue my life!
So called "muscle memory" is a very powerful thing, and it applies to using phones too. Switching from years of Android use to Apple is not just learning what functions a new iphone has, it is overcoming the ingrained habits acquired over perhaps twenty years. Basic tasks are often done using a difference sequence, often from menus with different titles, accessed in different areas of the 'phones settings. I reverted back to iphone in 2021, and found it tricky, sometimes irritating & often trivial things made me disproportionately cross... If you switch to iphone from Android, and you are not very young, a whizz with electronic tech, with a good deal of patience & determination in equal measures, it might be frustrating. Youtube training vids, google search and tips from your mates (thanks again @Ducbird ) will get you there, but only if you really want to succeed. Its not the iphone failing, its the operator (not the "forty cents more for the next three minutes" one). It doesn't matter at all if anyone gives up the attempt. But if you are stubborn and bloody minded enough you will master it.
Just gone Iphone back to Android for me, up dated the wifes Iphone to a newer model Iphone. Tbh. Both easy. But different.. devil is in the detail. Which is better? Probably no clear winner, but Samsung claim twice as many charge cycles before battery deterioration compared to Apple. £ for £ way better value.
The iPhone does weird shit that I find difficult to cope with. For instance, I just took a picture for a test. On my Google drive, where I tried to put it, the file, it’s an empty file. By tomorrow, the file will be there. It works at a glacial pace for no discernible reason. I find that difficult to work with.
Now it is, apparently. Tried taking a picture with this iPhone and posting with this iPhone. First, it kept falling and then, for mystical reasons that nobody knows it worked! IT’S A MYSTERY! but fun. I give no shit about this phone, safe in the knowledge that it will let me down, if I try anything useful. The gig is that you either go all in Apple and don’t try to Google, or you feck off. As my life is Googled, that’s where I should be.
