image from ebay, not the bike, but same shape. monster 1000ds with multistrada reservoir the diaphragm wont stay retracted. as a result, very little space for fluid. i dont see the diaphragm listed as a part. is it available to buy on its own, please? has anyone sorted similar issue please ... i may remove it at the weekend, immerse in solvent, dry for a while and see whether it will then stay retracted. also need to find where the fluid has leaked. David
You can substitute the diaphragm with fuel tank foam. Fill the whole reservoir. Takes up 3% volume and stops the fluid from sloshing around. Here is an example https://ebay.us/m/sUmkW6
fuel tank foam is an interesting material. more firm plastic in feel, than sponge. did the job ok and i can still see the fluid level. thanks again @Petsmith
Used it for this purpose on racing cars for years. Although the stuff I used is more of a sponge. It's actual use is to provide a positive mould for rubber fuel tanks. They're built around this stuff. It can then be left in or removed. I'm glad it works for you as well.
