Thanks @Ivor. Ferry docks at 11:45, guess we'll be off by 12:15. We then have a ride back to Gloucestershire taking in the Elan Valley if the weather is suitable. This will take the rest of the day and as I have a family event the following day need to get home at a reasonable hour. So regrettably a visit wouldn't be possible. If you want to join us (Multi, 996 and S1000RR) for part of the ride you'd be most welcome, drop me a PM if interested.
I much prefer the south west area of the waw so here are "just a few" of my suggestions , although based on your post you maybe pushed for time All 3 beara penisulas Priest Leap, start at the Ballylickey end Allihies loop in copper mine addition Lambs head Mizen head The black valley from molls gap Ballagbeama Gap Pass Ballaghisheen Pass Gap of dunloe ( in summer get there before 10am) Caha Pass Ballinskelligs to portmagge waw extension The ring of kerry is great in early spring or late autumn but too many coaches in summer. Much better to go rural and look to the roads through the centre of the ring Steer clear of going through Killarney at mid day Dublin centre traffic is a nightmare most times of the day , hundreds of traffic lights which stay red forever. If your b and b is on the west outskirts, use the tunnel direct from dublin port. Its 10 euro well spent I tend to stay in a great little town called Kenmare for 4 nights and just go out all day exploring and come back to kenmare If anyone else is planning a WAW trip and need any more info on the south west , send me a message and i can forward maps etc ps, none of the above suitable for Panigale !!
