  1. That is a cracking photo and your Grandfather looks to be a splendidly dapper gentleman - shiny shoes, pinstripe 3 piece, bow tie and trilby. It's such a shame hats have gone out of fashion. Grandma suitably attired and, as you say, not wishing to appear uncouth and maintaining her modesty by riding side saddle.

  2. A couple of old Brits at the CTL Motor Company.

  3. Dunno what it is about race sidecars but their build fascinates me - CTL Company again.

Lovely bit of welding on that (substantial) headstock.

It had two calipers on the LHS and only one on the RHS  To counteract a sidecar's tendency to turn left when braking perhaps?

Rear end with a short swingarm (UJ not in place) and what looks to be a tyre on the wrong way round.

  5. This R50 BMW has just had new main bearings fitted. The big ends were OK.

  8. I don't think I've ever posted a pic of my other non-Ducati bike.

It's a 1948 ZB32 BSA Competition currently fitted with a 1950 alloy barrel and head.

  9. That’s very nice. Do you manage to get out on it at all?

  10. Yes, I manage to put in 300 - 400 miles a year.

  11. Good on ya. It must be a great experience and a privilege to own.

  13. Nice... what's the cannister zip tied to the front down tube for?

  14. I'd venture that it's a catch tank for an engine breather.

  17. That's impressive. I seem to remember a firm called BMG back in the late sixties, early seventies who did a desmo conversion for Velocettes.

  18. It doesn't look like a 4V in the first picture with the rocker covers off.

    EDIT: It's a different engine
