1199 Gear Sensors

  1. Anyone run a 1299 engine and gear sensor using 1199 wiring and BBS? I know they have different outputs but hope someone might know of a magic box solution. Don't really want to fit 1299 loom etc., and would prefer to have the tc working with hopefully 220 hp.

  2. Using a 2017 pani r engine, on a 2012 1199s with the original harness, with an extension cable to get from the 1299/panir R gear sensor which is on the rights side of the engine to the 1199 harness which is built for the 1199 sensor which is mounted in the back of the engine case on the left side. We had to reset everything and relearn the gears, but I can't remember we did anything more than that to get it working. But it has been a good handful of years since I did the engine switch.
Without having looked at the electrical diagram recently, aren't both using a 3 wire setup, with the same voltage and ground setup.

  3. Hi @Mordor, I had hoped you would have picked up on this thread.
The sensor i bought for the ex bsb engine locates on the lhs of the engine, and has the same 3 wire set up.
I have the feeling I have bought an incompatible sensor but if yours worked fine with an R sensor I will buy another.
Presently Texa is saying I have a power to ground fault with the sensor I have fitted.
