V4 Battery Charging Voltage?

  1. I'm just trying to track down an issue with my 2022 V4 Pan and could do with a bit of advice please -
Battery charging voltage - does anyone know the value that should be getting into the battery under normal conditions - i.e. no added accessories, engine at idle, measure at the battery terminals
    Thanks

And,, if there is no charge coming into the battery, what are the likely suspects to have failed? reg/rec?

  2. At idle, you should be seeing 13V+ and at 4000rpm you should be seeing 14V+. If you are seeing no charging volts, my first thoughts would be a disconnected or fried wire/connector, followed by a failed regulator/rectifier and worst case, your generator has died. Andy

  3. Thanks Andy.... nothing else is showing issues and the engine does run fine when started
    Strip down job i guess

  4. Check the AC output from the generator before doing anything as it could be *just* the reg/rec. I don't know the V4 generator-voltage/rpm figures, but I'm sure someone does....
