A week tomorrow til the rider presentation in Barcelona I have the first week off work. Beer bbq and TDF. What the summer is made for.
https://www.domestiquecycling.com/e...-for-tadej-pogacars-historic-fifth-title-bid/ Feeling a bit harrumph about it for obvious reasons this year but I hope it can remain competitive for longer than the first week that’s predicted.
Fortunately and purely by chance we shall be watching the event live as it passes through Sarlat in two weeks time.
Good to see Tarling recovered in time https://www.domestiquecycling.com/e...ur-de-france-squad-after-oscar-onley-setback/
There’s a channel (164 on Virgin Media) called S4C (looks to be Welsh) that appears to be showing the TDF live every day if you’re too tight for tnt and don’t mind Welsh comms.
Been watching the new C5 highlights programme; no, just no. Whoever canned Imlach & Co, and the best sports highlights programme going, needs a severe talking to.
I don’t know why it was cancelled, but as someone with an interest rather than a rabid fan, the programme was pitched perfectly to provide highlights and background information around the Tour without ever making me feel I was being talked down to. Whatever the reason, an absolutely superb programme has been dumped and my enjoyment of the Tour is poorer for it.
Very few main stream sports you get to watch for free now if any and you can thank the yewessay for that. Along with shit, elongated advert breaks.
I’m not expecting to watch it for free; God knows I pay enough for Vermin Media, it just galls me that a programme so good has been replaced with such utter tripe.
If you want commentary on the tour, search out Lanterne Rouge on YouTube. He does pretty good analysis of the days riding.
That Belgian lad who co runs it is one of the only accounts I miss from Twitter. Benji Naessens I think…
Olaf Kooij wins stage five in a sprint finish on debut. Pedersen has almost double the points of second place Bini in the green jersey standings after five stages lol
