Good day all , I wonder if anyone can help , 350 mile run yesterday all good but a few mile from home my 2011 Diavel carbon lost power and red ETV error up on dash , coasted to a stop , bike would turn over but not fire up and etv error up again. Any ideas or tips would be much appreciated Regards Ewan
The 2011 Diavel has a hybrid fly by wire system which uses a physical cable between the handlebar and the electronics on the throttle body. All the electronics will be under the tank. We had a similar sounding issue which ended up being a sticking butterfly valve, stepper motor. The ECU saw it as a throttle position sensor error and the bike just shut down. In the timeframe we had, the solution was a new throttle body assembly as the individual parts aren’t available from Ducati. If we’d had the time, I would have tried to identify the supplier of the original part. If you start clutching at straws, I’m pretty sure I still have the original throttle body somewhere that might have any parts you need. Andy PS - it took a bit of a light bulb moment for the mechanic to identify it was the stepper motor. If you take your bike to a workshop, it might help to suggest looking at those components.
