In 1984 Bonnie Tyler sang “I’m Holding Out For a Hero”, which suggests that she wrote it at a time when there weren't enough heroes in the world. However, only a year later, in 1985, Tina Turner wrote "We Don't Need Another Hero", so there must have been some point in either late 1984 or early 1985 when there were an optimal number of heroes in existence.
