  1. Got back from my tour of Wales yesterday, a chap down the marina has been asking me to go with him for ages and I told him you can do Wales in a day if you get up early enough.
We went through the Brecons then down to St David’s, camped at New Quay then up to Barmouth via the foot bridge which was interesting. On to Anglesey for the second night of camping then through Snowdonia and then home.
    It was good fun.
I also had a message while I was away saying my old friend who had the heart attack was awake and watching the rugby on tv. He still very weak though, but great news.

  2. It's not that good!

I recently retired from a job where I'd spent just over 13 years; I left with a theatre voucher for £100, a voucher for a new golf bag, some bottles, and various other little funny gifts including a whisky tumbler engraved with a personal message. And a few days later a local Councillor appeared on the doorstep with a card and a restaurant voucher from him & his colleagues that I had worked with over that time.

The "gift" to Lady Nasher is an absolute insult.

  4. Back home after a few days at goodwood, then a couple of nights in the Cotswolds in the motorhome we hired.

It very nearly all went wrong when I was emptying the bog at the campsite this morning, as it was over ground, as the cassette didn’t have a handle on the side, and I tripped once I unscrewed the top, and before I got the funnel in the hole!

  5. The disposal point on some sites is accessed by lifting a manhole cover and a trip can result in you, the waste and the cassette all ending up lying in a sewer at the bottom of a 6ft shaft o_O

  8. Well Perry, of all your many ramblings that must be the best of all. Many congratulations to your daughter and to you on such a great achievement. I’m sure it’ll stand her in really good stead for the future.

I hope you enjoy the glory of her success and well done for helping facilitate it.

  9. Rebuild the carbs on a Honda Bf50 outboard (twice). Owner was surprised it wouldn’t run after sitting for 4 years! Worst carbs I’ve ever seen, floats all seized shut, every jet hole badly gummed up and a thick treacle of old fuel over everything.
    Runs nice now.

I think this one was your daughters Perry? . It was spectacularly well done esp the water element running through it.
