Just returned from watching The Odyssey...good film, but it's a very, very good idea to know a few names and general outline of who's a god and who's a half-god and their roles before starting, otherwise it would be tough to catch it all imo.
So basically you were tipping Googles Data Centre into a meltdown? Do I need any knowledge of Latin too? If you've seen Jason and the Argonauts is it comparable? Was thinking of watching this with the Mrs, but your film review has me revaluating that thought. There are only so .any questions you can answer whilst trying to watch a film. I guess I could take along a couple of crib cards and hand her one of them?
Took the bats for a walk and wasn't too grumpy... Had a young deer wander across the course on a couple of holes.
Packed my suitcases, ready for long journey home ! It’s been a strange work trip…. 5 days on site to do … nothing lol Hoping the weathers good enough for a nice ride out on Monday
Collected the 1198S this afternoon that I recently bought from a fellow forum member, safely tucked away next to the 999 I’m doing a bit of a restoration on. Was for sale on here for a while with apparently little interest but have to say I’m very happy with it indeed and the seller, BiggestJ.UK, is a thoroughly nice fella.
Well they’ve definitely spent some money on getting the infrastructure right. Easy to get to by car, and it was well signposted. Parking facilities were good and it was easy to get in and out of the event. The whole “park” was well built and well laid out. I expected to be walking on muddy fields/tracks but it was all paved/tarmaced/graveled. Food and drinks were reasonably priced too. It’s been well thought out and well designed. There’s lots to see and do there, but as we only had evening tickets we didn’t get to see it all as some shows and exhibits are only available during the day. So onto the evening show……….its a “story” of the history of England (and in particular the north east). And though the “story” is a bit thin on the ground (I guess it’s a bit hard condensing a couple of millennia into 90 mins) the spectacle of the show is fantastic! The “actors”, costumes, horses/horsemanship, animals, props, scenery, light show, fireworks etc were exceptional. It was a bit like the opening ceremony to the Olympics. Very entertaining indeed. I don’t suppose it’s the kind of thing you’d go to regularly but they are developing the park and adding more features/shows next year so maybe it is worth going once a year. I believe they are adding a Victorian village for 2027 (will it compete with Beamish?) Anyway it’s definitely worth a visit if you are able. We’d have loved to have been able to do the full day and night but couldn’t leave the pups that long (in the event they were left in their crate from 5pm till midnight when we got home), but it’s definitely worth a visit. I’d recommend visiting for the full day and night experience if you can afford the time.
