Just a heads up (FYI) for those, like me, who haven't ordered anything from Euro-land since Brexit. Back story: Last year while in Zagreb city traffic at 40C on the Panzer(GS) my feet were cooking. (BMW Goretex adv full length boots) didn't help!! So this summer I looked for some vented adv. boots. Having no idea if these existed. Found out Leatt make an Adventure 7.5 X Flow Short boot. Hoorah said I. Being a tight git I found motoin in Germany selling them for about 150 euros (price increased to 185.85 euros just before I ordered, grrrr). Excellent, even paying 20% import duty I save a bit over the £230 ish Sportsbikeshop flog them for. Oh how naive I was. I coughed up 202.75 euro sponds including 16.90 euro for DHL delivery. A week later Royal Snail(mail) sent me an email asking for £72.11p. Eh! Before they'd send them to my home. After 40 minutes on hold to R.M. I am told this: £20:00 Import duty. £39:14 VAT. £12:00 Parcel Force "handling fee." So my bargain = £244:46. Bumms. Buyer beware and all that. Happy with the boots, so just mildly pee'd off. Their size E.U. 43 = a slim size 9 U.K. stump
I always order EU stuff before an EU visit and have posted to the hotel. It seems couriers have developed a very lucrative business around random, non-negotiable “fees and duties” all around "you chose Brexit, so FU".
@El Toro yep. The irony is not lost on me. Would cost me even more to return them so posted my fiasco as a cautionary tale.
