  6. Yesterday. I hit a Muntjac deer on a country lane in north Hertfordshire. Luckily I was in the Mini and not on a bike. It leapt out of a cornfield on the right and though I managed to shed a lot of speed, I clipped it somewhere around its shoulder/head area with the front offside corner. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw it jump up the bank and into the field on the opposite side, so I went into the field to see if I could find it, but I couldn’t see it or find a blood trail and Iggy couldn’t sniff it out either, so it was either long gone or laying low and well concealed. Hopefully it will heal, because even though Muntjac are a bloody nuisance and it pushed my bumper in by an inch, cracked the paintwork and smashed the sidelight, I don’t like the thought of one suffering.

  7. They will be like a lot of animals that get hit by a car. Run a few hundred yards then unfortunately realise they are dead.

  8. They can run for a bit even if shot through the heart and both lungs, but I don't think I hit it hard enough to cause major internal bleeding.

  9. Yes, I've seen pheasant and pigeon fly on then go bugger and drop out of the sky

  10. Agreed to take part in a phone app led, health programme so I can understand how or what it is about my usual diet that is causing the spikes in my blood sugar levels. Well, I fell at the first hurdle I don't have a wearable health monitor. Also not sure where they think I'm going to find the time to upload pictures to the app of everything I eat, every day for the next 9 months  Like that's going to happen when I'm trackside picking up crashed bikes and fallen riders  Haven't had the 1-2-1 phonecall yet but I can't see that ending well. Andy

  11. Worth trying the Dr Michael Mosely Blood sugar diet!

  12. My girlfriend has a spare blood/sugar monitor you stick in your arm for 2 weeks. At least I can download the stored data in my own time and look for spikes. Andy
