Seen a Ducati 888 SP5 that might be up for sale soon. It`s in good nick, 20,000 miles on the clock, with a FSH and a price of £15,000 being suggested. Anyone any thoughts on the price, is £15k about right or not?
I say about 5k too much? The SP5 have Showa forks and steel tank but that doesn't seem to affect the value much.
There was one on ebay a while listed about 10.5k Dont know it it sold or not as it was a classified but it had been listed earlier at a higher price. TBH seems a touch steep IMO but a bike is worth what some is prepared to pay for it or how long the seller is willing/able to wait for the right buyer to show up. The SP5 comes with Showa forks and ohlins rear so it would worth getting it verified to see if its genuine as its easier to fake than earlier 888 SP's with the now rare ohlins forks, note top yoke badges have been faked too :/ Ps without sight of the bike any attempt at price is pure speculation and once you have that it would be worth asking over on www.ducati851and888.com ....
It seems a bit expensive to me, but I'm no expert. Riders in Bridgewater had a mint one in a while back (within the last year) and it was up for £10.5k.
