748 Monoposto Seat Pad

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by COH555, Oct 20, 2013.

  1. Hi knowledgable forum members.

    Please can someone tell me if the Mono seat pad I've just purchased is an actual Mono. It looks the same size as the Bip seat pad to me & I want to make sure before I continue messing about.

    Many thanks

  3. That's a Biposto seat pad, the Mono is more raised at the rear.

  4. Thank you.

    The higher back was my expectation.

    Is there anyone else in agreement with DukeDesmo? I bought the seat from E-Bay and before I throw my toys out I just want be 100% certain. Is there a part number or can someone provide me with the dimensions of a Mono seat?

    Thanks

  5. That is 100% a biposto seat. Pages 84 & 85 of this pdf will give you part numbers 748.pdf

  7. Thanks for the swift response.

    Message sent to E-Bay seller!

  8. This is a genuine Ducati mono seat;

  9. Clear difference between yours and mine DukeDesmo, cheers.

    pApologies for being lame, but my I-Pad can't access the 748 PDF and my laptop is broken. I'm keen to get onto E-Bay Resolution ASAP but would just like to confirm the part number first. Are any of you kind Dukeites able to get it for me and add it to the thread please? I can then start to try and get this resolved.

    Thanks

  10. Part no. from '00 748 and early 916 parts manual is;

    Mono - 595.1.027.1A
    Biposto - 595.1.029.1A

    Later model (998) shows;

    Mono - 595.1.050.1A
    Biposto - 595.1.050.1B

    Not sure if later 748 was the same as 998? or what the differences are for the later model though.

  11. Definitely a Bip seat!
