Slipper clutch compatibility

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Rossdj, Nov 1, 2013.

  1. Just looking at getting a slipper clutch for me 1098s.
looking at a second hand ones ideally. But I'm wondering are they all interchangeable, like will one from a 999 or a 998 fit on mine ok?

    any help much appreciated

    cheers

  2. Ass I understand it Rdj, you need the big nut to have a 25mm hole rather than the 20mm but someone will undoubtedly confirm this. I too am currently in the process of putting a stm on my 1198 from my 916. I think it may be this

EVR Ducati M25 Spring Washer & Nut for EVR Dry Slipper Clutches

I bought another one recently which is in actual fact a sigma centre in a stm 48t outer. its not the same as my proper stm in my 916. Theres a different in the washers and things as confirmed to me by a visit with it to HM Racing. Great shop btw and Dave's a helpful bloke.

  3. Cheers mate,

so from what I gather it's just the nut and washer that's the variable, the rest should all fit ok I assume?

be nice if someone done a sticky to confirm what's what with slipper clutches

  4. I think so RDJ but I was hoping someone on here would confirm it. Ive ordered one myself so once it arrives I will confirm myself. :)

  5. I've actually done this.... a 748-998 Clutch will fit a 1098 BUT - you will need a bigger centre nut and washer to fit the 1098, as the gearbox shaft is a bigger diameter. I've got an STM EVO Slipper on my 998, which I swapped on to a 1098 Tricolore which I had, and the conversion kit was about £50 - I got mine from Geoff at GTEC who is an STM stockist.
