1ST real ride today over to Finchingfield. Twisty roads all the way. Large grin all the way their and back and still running it in. Only moan lots of weight on your wrists and I thought the SP2 was bad.
STRANGE THING IS I VISITED MY LOCAL DEALER TODAY TO CHECK THE HYPERSTRADA OUT . NICE PIECE OF KIT (A LIITLE ON THE PRICEY SIDE ) WITH ALL THE GLITTERARTY THERE ETC MY EYE JUST KEPT GETTING DRAWN TO THE SF .I JUST THINK ITS A THING OF BEAUTY.NEVER EVER OWNED A SPORTS BIKE (i have a bad back from many years of mx ing).BUT WOULD BE INTERESTED IF ITS AS COMFY TO RIDE AS IT IS TO SIT ON .
I find it fine Tim. Some people complain that it can be heavy on the wrists, but I haven't experienced it. You can always fit a pair of Rizoma bars to raise your hands a little if it was a problem.
Good choice on the 848. Although not having the option when I got my 1098 S I defo would not change my mind More than enough power and I have used most of it with the traction control lights kicking in It's a keeper for me, even after testing the new Tuono, and not really interested in BMWs new offering Keep with it the grin factor is always there
I hadn't really paid any interest in the SF before this weekend. Went to the Herts Superbike Centre in Potters Bar to pick up a part and they have a 1098 one there with a load of bling on it. Looks fantastic. Does anyone here commute on one? The bars looked very wide - had guards on the brake levers, are these standard?
Likewise, guards are not standard. I occasionally use my 1098SF to commute to work if its bone dry and fancy something a little more exciting than my CBF1000. Apart from the heavy clutch and having to slip it in stop-start traffic its perfectly fine for commuting.
Just seen the post above again, and it makes sense now! I spend most of the time in neutral rolling around West London
Had my streetfighter 848 over 2 years and 10k miles. I still love it and even an 899 I rode the other day was nowhere near as much fun on the road
