Tonight, I shall be watching Wire smash T'Leeds ........ a proper game where cheats get ridiculed, not lauded.
id rather stick an angry wasp oop me boom than watch .................now england v south Africa tomorrow........ireland versus new zealand.....now we are talking a proper game!
Just about to start watching the game. I'm expecting lots of fake injurys, rolling about on the floor and the usual boring opening match. A great summer of sport ahead May as well stay in and watch it with all the crappy weather we are having.
Not a footy fan, but I did happen to watch the game this afternoon, but the save by the substitute goalie was amazing. I quite enjoyed the game actually.
I'll be looking at it but I'm not especially excited about it this time around. Thought the last World Cup was fairly awful (though the vuvuzelas didn't help) and the big teams played mostly in an uninspired manner. The basic problem is that we already have the Champions League, so this is just seeing the same players redistributed into less functional teams. National sides haven't been the cream of the crop for ages now. This was not the case in the 70s, or even 80s. At least the expectations surrounding the English team are on a par with reality for the first time I can remember in an international football competition. So we can't possibly be disappointed, can we?
With you 110% on that one Ducbird. Now my other half, she likes football. I think she just likes perving at the footballers legs, or it might be it reminds her of her hooligan days following the local team .
Mmmmm, interesting. I don`t want to inflame your passions to much but I was on the school rugby team, GRRRR! Now to put the flames out, I was built like a twig back then and I can`t remember ever winning a game
i'd rather eat my own shit than watch gayball .......................superpoles on at 1400 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starting with grotesque amount of money and corruption, through to the cheating and deception on display on the pitch. Yup.....I think your right
I'm watching Germany - Portugal. Schweinsteiger definitely has the best name in the Euro, as well as the Champions League. Etymologically: Schwein - "a pig" and "Steiger" from "steigen" - to climb, go up, get on board. So a schweinsteiger must be someone who climbs on to pigs. if I was translating this, would not a reasonable and idiomatic translation into English be "sheepshagger"?
