Dry to wet clutch

  1. Hi All

Can a wet clutch be fitted to a monster s4r dry clutch set up ?

if bike don't sell, i want to convert it

    regards Bryan

  2. Are you set on going wet? Why not buy a slipper clutch?

  3. I don't like the noise. Gets on my nerves. And until it sells. Ill be using it.

Will jhp be able to do it. As I'm having to give it a service and belts and have it set up as it pops and bangs when you let the throttle off

  4. your selling the bike but are going to spend nearly a thousand pound converting it to wet clutch and away from standard that a new purchaser may want, because of a little noise?

  5. It only makes noise at idle, with the clutch out. Is there something else causing noise? You'd be amazed at some of the things I've heard explained away as 'Ducati clutch noise' the best one being a catastrophic rod knock on a monster a friend looked at a few years back.

Pull the clutch and the engine should be relatively quiet - nothing significantly outside normal air cooled noises such as mild valve train noise and piston slap.

  6. The bike is so far from standard now, it makes no difference,

it's not an easy bike to sell, had not much luck last time,

    it's a marmite bike now.

So might aswell get what I want done until then. I've got to spend around £500 at jhp to get belts, service and set up done and know I'll never get my money back, but that the thing with them

  7. Closed clutch cover makes a big difference. There is also a quiet clutch mod some have applied

Was yours the s4r with the raised tail and the twin headlight

  8. Unfortunately yes.

Got let down on a sale. So kept it in the garage. But just bought another rs16i I was after.

So no room in the garage when I collect the new car.

If it doesn't sell ill have to buy an outdoor cover.
