1198 clutch basket?

  1. Is this compatible with the 748?
I have a spare and my 748 clutch basket is a bit worn and steel - I have an alloy basket from my 1198 that is unused and a set of alloy plates (barnett) that I want to use - any changes I need or should it be ok?
Also what should the stack height be and is it any different if using barnett plates?
    Thanks

  2. I believe all air cooled clutch baskets are the same throughout the range, centrenut sizes do differ though. The stack height should be the same.

I cannot remember what it is off the top of my head but a Google search or a look in something like a Haynes manual will confirm.

  3. I put a 916 stm on my 1198 no probs. Only centre nut was different. Your 1198 basket will drop straight into your 748 no problem.

  4. Have offered it up and indeed it looks fine - so will use the existing drum and associated gubbins along with the new basket and a barnett set of clutch plates
    Fingers crossed
    Thanks guys
