Done about 1200 mile on my bike now. Even after the running in service I still have the problem. Usually on a constant throttle in town, I'm no tech re bikes but there is little sound that comes out the exhausts. I have Aiken to my dealer they have said it will get better in time, but I'm not convinced. I took the demo with full system and it never happened once on a 2 hour ride. I asked the dealer if anyone else has had the issue he says not!! Just interested if anyone on here has had same issues? I have read some reviews that mention it too. Surely Ducati need to sort this out. I will be taking bike back this week so dealer can sort it out!! If they can????
If the dealer says it will get better with time, then they must either (a) know what the issue is, or (b) giving you b.s. at which point find another dealer. Hopefully it's (a) at which point ask them what is causing the problem and why.
I beleive there maybe a recall with a bolt holding the rear swing arm to the suspension apparently, could be worth asking about this at same time.
I heard something about this. I believe it's something to do with the induction - there's a screw in the airbox/headstock - the bogey screw. You need to get your finger up there and fish it out. HTH.
The problem with V twins they are rubbish at low speeds, I have owned 4 Ducati's all the same very sluggish around town. Even my Aprilia mille V twin is a dog around town. With todays exhaust emissions 02 sensors etc. Most bikes need de-restricting. Either race cans, or new ECU.
Or just go back to plain old carbs, coils and points.........The only thing I noticed with my LeMans doing town work in very heavy stop start traffic was the heavy clutch......but it was no worse than 10 times through Graham Hill Bend, all on the left arm (I could never get my leathers off straightaway because it had pumped my forearm up).
