Can any of you fine chaps with a lathe make up a headstock stand pin for me please? Forgive the crude illustration below, I hope it makes sense. The one in the pic is the pin I used for my 749R, but the one I need making up for the Multi has the dimensions shown below. If you can help, please could you let me know the cost? Cheers.
I wanted something similar as the Ohlins yoke on my 916 has a huge hole in the bottom. I found that a suitable sized 1/2" drive socket pushed on to the 12mm (might be the 13mm with some grinding?) is a perfect fit.
That is absolutely awesome mate, can't thank you enough! I'll PM you. The Multi rebuild continues....!
I do like a bit of improvisation. I made some abba stand fittings for 999 from sockets a while back. cost a couplaquid.
There is something quite sensual about a handcrafted little bit of metal.....made me smile anyway Thanks very much Andy, its heart warming to see that we modern humans can still help each other for no other reason than because we can.
Love the fact that you have socket sets and bike stand bits ready to be romantically illuminated by candle light - you old smoothy.
Nice piece of machining, very satisfying when you make things like the above. I like using my lathe but I do wish I had more experience on using it, great for making basic things though.
