But not new to Ducati's. I am the proud owner of a 1991 J plate fully faired 900ss and a 2000, 996 Biposto which I have owned for 18 years and 8 years respectively. I have also owned a 600 Monster commute bike which I dismantled, and rebuilt with powder coated bits and bobs before selling her to a mate of mine to finance the 996 Purchase. This he kindly wrote off a couple of weeks later!. Been through pretty much all the pitfalls you can with these model bikes. I am really content with them all. Recently however, I have felt a stirring in my loins which points towards a multistrada 1200S touring on the admission I am getting probably a little old to have my rear pointing skywards, besides there is only so much touring you can do on a 996. As both bikes are well out of warranty, I maintain them myself in an effort to keep them tip top. There is howevr a strange problem with the 900 but thats for a completely different thread. I will be asking a few q's of the 1200 Multistrada owners amongst us before I commit to another long term bike.!
