As the title suggests, can anyone point me in the direction of one of these.. Ideally from the UK.. After the one which allows you to leave it in neutral on the stand, but if you put it into gear the engine cuts out. Thanks :smile:
Lee, they used to be freely available on ebay, had a look and the only one I could find was here Electraeon SideStand Bypass for Ducati Monster. | eBay which is a bit steep but the ones that were available in the UK were around £15 You should be able to insert a link into the stand switch loom plug to override the stand switch if you wish
Thanks for that.. Couldn't seem to find anything on eBay?.. I'm ok with the price as I expect these aren't in as much demand anymore.. Just be nice to let the bike warm up without me having to sit on it.. Many thanks Denzil!
I've done the diode mod on my yr2000 M750. Works a treat and costs virtually nothing. There is a neater way of wiring it though. After connecting the diode to the neutral switch wire, instead of running the other end of the wire across the bike to the sidestand cutout switch wiring, simply run it up to the sidestand switch relay (the black one, next to the others under the seat) and connect it to the signal terminal. This is basically exactly the same layout, just connected up a little further down the wire. I simply laid the new wire alongside the relay terminal on the existing wire and wrapped them together with a thin sliver of self-amalgamating tape. This was neat enough that the terminal still fitted back into the multiconnector block. The whole thing involves little more than about 1ft of wire and the diode.....though I did include a bullet connector so I could easily disconnect the diode and revert to the std system in the unlikely event of the diode failing. A super little mod (not of my design). Recommended.
