  1. Guys,
I have just one magnesium head cover for 749 999 to be sold.
As you can see it must be re painted . The magnesium is perfect without any crank. Unfortunately the guy that was using the bike before was crazy to paint it like this :-(

    80£ + shipping

  3. There was a new one on ebay for 110 last week.

On a pro-rata basis this one should be worth about 15p

  4. If you are interested make me an offer :) I think that the price is aligned... it just need to be repainted nothing more...

  5. You cant simply paint Magnesium. Professional Job

  6. £20 and I'll take it off your hands

  7. I'm sorry but that's not true :) all magnesium parts are painted .…have you ever seen magnesium unpainted? You ll never mount it on your bike ;)

20£ ahahah I love it on my shelf ;)

  8. Magnesium needs to be chromated first before applying paint, as I'm sure you know as soon as bare magnesium is exposed to air it starts to decay.

This is is why places like dymag will dye and X-ray mag wheels first before refinishing.

  9. This has got me worried now. My rear mag wheel is currently having a few scruffs and stone chips sorted

  10. Don't thing the 1098s had mag wheels?

  11. I'm sure those cover are circa £130 new from the stealers

  12. Forged mag

  13. Bare magnesium and water, especially salt water are not good friends. This looks like it is a front cover and has suffered badly and will need a professional to restore it to some semblance of good order.

  14. Yes exactly, the guys before didn't care a lot. As someone said before this is only matter of painting - professional painting . I can do that but actually it's a spare one and I would like to avoid to keep it in my garage :) If no one want it I will send to my friend to restore and selling for double price hehehe

    Ciao

  15. See post #12

Id just stick it on ebay 99p start no reserve before I started spending any time or money on it. Without being rude its just scrap

  16. I don't want to be rude but unfortunately it's not exact the same :) dear Kato :) hypermotard or 848/1x98 magnesium parts are easy to find … even cheaper

  17. Of course you are correct, me being to quick to post and not looking properly, post amended

  18. I would use it in the garage................as a fucking ash tray!

It's fucked, needs a £50-£70 repair job on it and therefore someone's offer of £20 was reasonable. It will never look as good as new, those scares where it is corroding will show through very visibly.
