Lost my left pannier on the way down to Southampton on Thursday night! Anyone traveling down the m3, m27, a334 to Botley in the coming days, pls keep an eye open! It's a red standard Ducati box! Finder will be reimbursed!
Bloody hell!!! Have you any idea how?? You can't remove key until properly locked in. Hope you recover it.
Ok So phoned Ducati today. The good news is: I can buy a single left side panier box. The bad news....£264 for the box, plus £70 for the red colour, plus the fact that from now on I will have to have two keys ie one for the existing box/bike and a new one for the new box! Thinking along the lines of getting a complete new set and selling the right hand box? But what to get? SW, Touratech, Givi? Any one out there that can advise?
The boxes are separate to the locks so a new set of boxes won't change that, I suspect. Plus who's going to want a single right hand box? I'm surprised they cannot order you another lock to match, frankly.
Don't think I ever got a spare lock....the joys when buying second hand! Will check my duc file....have a good mind to write to duc uk to complain....still don't understand how a locked box can come undone? Still smarting....
I would have thought you could buy a lock barrel cut for your bike through your dealer. I cannot see how a pannier could come off either???
Indeed. It's not like my old Pan Euro where you could slide the pannier in and not bother locking the hasp on the bike that held it in place. The locking mechanism is on the pannier, the key stays captive until it's locked in place and you can't fit the pannier unless it's in the unlocked position. Definitely some questions to be asked, I would say.
