Exhaust Assembly

  1. I had to remove my 57mm Termi system from my 749 today as there is a crack in the rear cylinder pipe at the heat shield bracket. It was an absolute bastard of a job getting the pipes apart as they were completely stuck together.

When I put it back together after it is mended, what are the recommendations regarding using grease or similar to assist reassembly? Last time I did it I found it quite tricky to twist n' turn each individual pipe to align it correctly - it's obviously quite important to install it so there are no residual stresses in the system otherwise it may crack ! If the joints are dry this is pretty tricky.
    Any thoughts?

  2. Good quality copper grease.

  3. I use copper silicone from halfords

  4. what is that?
Can I use Copperease (which I have already)?

  5. Yes, thats good copper grease.

  6. Lubricates when assembling but also seals the joints after.

  7. if you give the joints a good spray with wd40 and let it soak for a while it will make life easier.
